We are learning about using textured images to create a collage picture

We created a Collage kiwi to show what we have done.

I found it easy to ...do the head and the body 

I found it hard to ...do the feet and legs

i relly engoy ... the whole thing of my Collage kiwi

 We were learning about how plants need sunlight to grow.

I found it easy to put the plant into the garden.

I found it hard to hold the big watering can with lots and lots of water.

I really enjoyed ... gardening and digging up the soil to put my seedling in the hole                                                            Next time I need to..i need to make sure that my plant has water.

 At Whangarei Pools

On Sunday afternoon I drove to Whangarei Pools with my family. I was so excited. I was as happy as a clown.

First I dressed in my togs. Then we got into the big pool. It's filled with water but I could reach for the bottom except for the deep end. It was so cold. Brrrrrrrr. Then I said to the sicuriti gard can I please have a donut please. He said Yes. So I got one i flooded everywhere. It was supa wupa fun I was as happy as a clown.

Then vj got in we had a water fight . We were splashing water at each other.Vj won the water fight. 

Next i did a fodfil to a backflip ada water It was so cool that one little boy flipted out and said can you teach me please I said yes. 2 minits later my mum said it is time to go now.

I felt OK because I was redy to go. 

We all drove to Kaikohe again and finally we got home.

My day was the best day ever because I had soo much fun! Because it was soo much fun that i flippt out!.

A spider in the shower.

Here is my spider from the spider in the shower story.

 We were learning about working with modelling clay to make a spider.

I found it easy to make the body. All you need to do is flatten and shape the clay.

I found it hard to make the head it. The head kept coming off the body.

I really enjoyed... the whole thing 

Next time I need to... add more interesting stuff.

What is sound?

It is power and energy.

How is sound made?

When you make an object vibrate it makes a sound. 

How does sound travel?

Sound travels by vibrations that move air particles. The air particles bump into each other and that makes sound waves that take the sound to your ear.

How do we hear sounds?

The sound goes down the tunnel  to your eardrum to your bones to the cochlea and the cochlea sends the sound message to your brain. 

Why can’t sound be heard in space?

Sound can’t be heard in space because there is no air in space.

Dear Mum and Dad  

Did you know that sound is energy. It can make rice jump.         

When you hit a tuning fork on the table it makes vibrations.

When you dip a vibrating tuning  fork into water, the vibrations make the water splash.

Also when you make a tuning fork vibrate it makes a sound. 

When you make an object vibrate it makes a sound.

Recount Writing-The Flood

WALT to make our writing more interesting for our readers.

The flood

On  Friday morning I woke up in a fright from all the noise. The noise was coming from outside my house. I got up fast and looked out the window.  I covered my mouth with my hands because I was so shocked by what I saw.        

I saw heavy, pouring rain making huge puddles of water everywhere. The rain was making puddles and they were connecting to other puddles. It was flooding and I was scared.  My heart was pounding fast.The flood water was gushing and rushing all over my paddock.  There were holes and lots of damage in my paddocks. It was pushing mud and paru stuff all over my road.  I was scared that our car was going to slip and crash into the trees and make a massive fire.  All the paru stuff was getting on our house and our windows so wet, we got the mop and washed all of the dirt off our house. 

We finally were finished cleaning up our house. 

Next we jumped into the flood. We were doing bombs and it was very very fun swimming in the flooded waters.

In the afternoon the rain slowed down. We felt happy because the flood waters were going away.

Riding my quad

On Saturday afternoon I rode my Quad around our
paddock down the bottom at our farm.

Taria was riding the quad with me.

First I did some skids and drifties.
It was very fun because it was like we were
chasing some bad guys. It was fun.

Next I rode my quad around the bumps.
We were going up and down and going through things. 

There was a BIG pile of prickles so I went around it
and I got pricked. Ouch!  I got the prickle out. 

After that I went to do some more drifties and
we saw a sand tornado.

Next I went home to watch youtube of scary videos.

I watched a video where there was a guy who
caught slender man  climbing  a building. 
Me and Taria were scared. Finally it got dark.
I had amazing time.

Recount Writing-Going to the Skate Park

I have been learning to write interesting stories for my readers.
Going to the skate park
On Saturday afternoon my family and I went to the  skatepark in Kaikohe to play on the playground. First I got my skateboard and I slid down the ramp. I felt amazing because it was fun. Then  we slid down the massive hole. I thought that was cool. Next we went to  the park to play on the  swings. I was swinging  very high. It was getting scary. I felt  like I was  getting butterflies in my tummy. After that mum got me down. Then we went home.  
All my cousins were there. We were playing fortnite and 1b1. 
We were in a real game. I got the win and I got so much good loot. I felt happy. I had a big smile on my face and I was giggling.
Then all of my friends and cousins wanted to have a swim in our plastic pool in my backyard. We went outside and jumped in the pool. SPLASH we got very very very soaked. We were playing with the noodles. We were acting like they were unicorns. We hopped on them and we grabbed the tall part and we faced it down and put it on our heads and said Giddy up. It was awesome fun.    
Then we got dry with our towels.   
Finally it got dark and we went to sleep for school.

Recount Writing-On Saturday

On Saturday
On Saturday morning me and my family went to the pools in Whangarei for a swim.
First when we got there we went to get changed into our togs .
I felt so excited  I was jumping up and down and waving my hands around.
Next we went out  to the pool to have a swim. When I got  to the pool I bombed in. SPLASH!
The water was very cold. I felt freezing. 
My body was shivering all over. So I got out and quickly ran to the hot tub to get warmed up. I stepped into the hot tub and the warm water heated me up. It was so lovely and relaxing . After that i got out and went  to  get changed in my clothes.I felt great Because i had an 
Amazing time at the pools.

We were learning about how to write a Recount.

I found it easy to write who I went with.

I found it hard to write long sentences.

I really enjoyed thinking of juicy words to use in my writing.

Next time I need to write faster.

I created an online card to give my Nan on Mother's Day.

I thought up an alphabet of describing words about her, I wrote a poem using some of my words,

Today I watched an awesome video from Nanogirl. She explained about what the coronavirus is, how it works to make us sick and how we can help to stop the virus from spreading. 

I decided to make a poster to share what I had learnt and to show people how they can help to

Recount Writing: Heaps of visitors

WALT write interesting stories for our readers.

On the weekend heaps of people came to our

house for a party. 

First, Taria and I were playing on the see-saw.

We were going high.  It was super high. I was feeling great.
I let go of the see-saw and I flew into the soft grass. 

It was soft like a blanket.

Next, we helped our uncles and cousins to work on

Uncle Pouri’s house. 

Next, we nailed the boards together. It got stuck forever.
Then we climbed a ladder and I jumped off. 

I almost got hit.  

Next, we were throwing eggs.  I got the eggs out of
my Mum’s car.  We almost cracked them all.
Some of them smashed on the grass.  I felt awesome.  

We all ate lasagne.  

I said to Taria,”Let’s play tag.”  She said, “Yes.” 

I felt happy because it was very cool.

were playing on the quad.  First, we were doing drifts.
Then we were going over bumps.
It was funny and fun.  We gave turns.
We went around a big pile of prickles.
The spark plug came off.
We put the spark plug back on. 
I started it. I had a great time.

I said to Joshua, “That was a big bump.” 
Joeche said to me, “Let’s go up and watch Login.” 
We went up and watched Login. It was funny.
We were laughing.  I had a cool time and
we were laughing hard out.

The Maori people were in NZ first.

Then some English people came to NZ.

The English had problems.

Some Maori people felt sad so they got some help.

Maori people asked the King for help.

James Busby and William Hobson came.

They had a meeting with the Maori people.

Then James Busby and William Hobson made some rules.

So they got a big paper and wrote 3 rules.

Look after each other.

Look after things in NZ.

Look after NZ.

The English people and the Maori people signed the big paper. 

They agreed. They became partners.

They never fought and killed each other again.

The big paper with rules was called The Treaty of Waitangi.

The Treaty of Waitangi made NZ safe.

On the big paper, the rules were on top

and the names were on the bottom.
